Baroco's Historical Timeline

       From a small start in 1983 we now employ nearly 180 excellent staff who devote themselves to providing the highest quality services possible to the 400 people we serve each day.   Following is the history of our Company.
1983 Baroco (pronounced Bear-ra-koe) is founded as a proprietary corporation by Rick Barnard, its current President, and Gail Rollins, its current Treasurer.
1984 Baroco opens its 1st Day Habilitation Program in Springfield serving 35 people from Hampden County Massachusetts. 
1985 Baroco is awarded a contract to serve 20 people in Hatfield who live in Hampshire and Franklin Counties of Massachusetts.
1986 Baroco is awarded a contract to serve 24 people in Pittsfield who live in Berkshire County Massachusetts.
Baroco is awarded its first Connecticut Contract to serve 20 people who live in Southeastern Connecticut.
1988 Baroco moves its Springfield Program to its new Agawam facility, allowing the program to expand to serve 49 people.
1989 Baroco converts its Pittsfield program to the Pittsfield Day Habilitation Program allowing the program to offer more intensive services to 49 people.
1990 Baroco is awarded a contract to provide Volunteer Services as an off shoot of its Agawam and Pittsfield Day Habilitation programs
Baroco is awarded additional funding to serve 4 more people in its Ledyard facility bringing the total people served to 24.
1991 Baroco moves its Hatfield program to Hadley, converting the program to the Hadley Day Habilitation Program offering more intensive services to 42 people.
1992 Baroco is awarded its second Connecticut Program and it first program to provide Employment Services.  The program, located in Torrington, serves 49 people from Northwestern Connecticut.
1995 Baroco opens its West Springfield Day Habilitation Program to providing intensive services to 41 people living in Hampden County Massachusetts.
1997 Baroco is awarded its third Connecticut Program to provide services in South Windham  to 34 people living in South Eastern Connecticut.
1999 Baroco expands its West Springfield Day Habilitation Program allowing it to provide services to 53 people.
2001 Baroco opens its Wayside Avenue Day Habilitation Program providing intensive services to 42 people living in Hampden County Massachusetts.
2001 Baroco is awarded a contract to open a satellite office in Torrington allowing it to serve 5 more people with the capacity to serve more as the needs arise.
2006 Baroco is awarded a contract to open our Springfield Day Habilitation Program which will ultimately provide services to over 40 people.
